About Me

I apply engineering thinking across multiple domains - from building scalable software systems, to designing and fabricating physical objects, to creating communities and advocating for change. Whether it's code, hardware, or social impact, I focus on creating robust, meaningful solutions.

💻 Backend Engineering Journey

Senior Node.js Engineer

Aug 2022 - Present

EPAM Systems

Leading backend development initiatives, architecting scalable solutions for enterprise clients, and mentoring junior developers. Focusing on building robust cloud-based systems that handle high-load scenarios with reliability and performance.

Backend Engineer

Apr 2020 - Apr 2022

Vizor Interactive

Developed and maintained backend services for interactive applications. Implemented real-time communication features, optimized database queries, and improved system performance under heavy load conditions.

Full-stack Engineer

Apr 2018 - Apr 2020

Automatic Solutions

Started my professional journey building full-stack applications. Gained foundational experience in both frontend and backend development, with a growing focus on server-side architecture and API design.

Technical Philosophy

01

Code Quality

Using SOLID principles to design understandable and scalable code. Writing systems that are maintainable, testable, and can evolve with changing requirements.

02

Scalable Architecture

Building systems that work stably with heavy loads. Designing for growth from day one, ensuring applications can scale horizontally and handle increasing traffic gracefully.

03

Cloud-Native Design

Extensive experience with AWS services, building cloud-based APIs and microservices. Leveraging managed services to focus on business logic rather than infrastructure management.

04

Observability

Setting up robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems. Catching problems immediately and responding proactively to maintain system reliability and performance.

05

Continuous Learning

Constantly developing professional skills to apply cutting-edge solutions to real-world problems. Staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

⚙️ Design & Making

3D Printing Journey

My journey into physical engineering started with curiosity about 3D printing technology. What began as experimentation evolved into a serious passion.

The ultimate challenge was building a 3D printer from scratch. This project combined mechanical engineering, electronics, and software - requiring me to understand every component and how they work together. It taught me that engineering principles apply universally, whether you're building software systems or physical machines.

What I Create

🖨️

Functional Designs

Creating practical objects that solve real problems - from custom parts to household solutions.

🔧

Hardware Projects

Building and modifying physical systems, understanding mechanics, electronics, and firmware.

🎨

Design Iteration

Rapid prototyping and iterative design - testing, learning, and improving with each version.

🏳️‍🌈 Community & Activism

Co-founder of Prismatica

In March 2019, I co-founded Prismatica (formerly "New Regions"), a horizontal queer-feminist initiative based in Mahilow, Belarus. We became the first LGBTQ+ initiative in the regions of Belarus, working to create safe and inclusive environments through educational and cultural events.

Despite the challenges of 2020 and beyond, Prismatica continues its mission - supporting LGBTQ+ people throughout Belarus and in forced migration. We work horizontally (no hierarchies), make decisions by consensus, and take an intersectional approach to advocacy and community building.

Our mission: To strengthen the LGBTQ+ community in Belarus and forced migration, creating a safe and sustainable environment through education, advocacy, and cultural events.

7+ Years of Grassroots Activism

Building communities requires the same engineering mindset as building software - understanding systems, anticipating needs, creating sustainable structures, and continuously iterating based on feedback. The difference is that the "users" are real people whose lives you're trying to improve.
